As a part of the International Mathematics Day celebrations, the Department of Mathematics at Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Satara, organized a Poster Presentation Competition aimed at promoting mathematical creativity, critical thinking, and effective communication among students.

The event created an engaging and intellectually stimulating atmosphere, where students showcased their understanding of key mathematical concepts through thoughtfully designed and visually attractive posters.

A total of six students actively participated in the competition:

·         Vedant Jadhav

·         Sifa Bagwan

·         Shrawani Bhoite

·         Dhanashree Bhosale

·         Rutuja Sutar

·         Kalyani Nikam

The posters presented covered a range of fascinating mathematical topics, including:

·         Pi Day – Emphasizing the significance of the mathematical constant π and its real-world applications.

·         Fibonacci Sequence – Demonstrating its presence in nature, patterns, and structures across various disciplines.

·         Proofs Without Words – Presenting mathematical proofs through visual illustrations that enhanced understanding without textual explanation.

·         Fractals and Their Applications – Exploring the concept of fractals, their self-similar structure, and applications in natural sciences, technology, and art.

Each participant confidently explained the content of their poster, interacted with the judges and audience, and effectively communicated complex ideas in a simplified and engaging manner.

The competition was judged by:

·         Mr. R. R. Sable, Head of the Botany Department

·         Mr. Bharatbhushan Kedar, Head of the Junior Wing, Department of Mathematics

The judges appreciated the creativity, clarity of thought, and presentation skills exhibited by the students. They encouraged further exploration of mathematical ideas and praised the initiative for nurturing a culture of inquiry and innovation.
